Caramel Apple Dipping Bar
32 apple wedges
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup Florida Crystals®Organic Light Brown Raw Cane Sugar , packed
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup pretzels
- 1 cup tropical trail mix
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 cup shredded, sweetened coconut
- 1 cup granola
- 2 red and 2 green apples of your choice
- lemon juice
- 32 white dipping sticks
In a 4-cup glass measure or deep microwaveable bowl, microwave butter on high (100%) power 45 to 60 seconds to melt. Whisk in brown sugar and cream until blended. Microwave 2 to 2 1/2 minutes longer, until bubbly and slightly thickened. Stir once during cooking. Serve warm.
Makes 1 1/3 cups.
Place pretzels in a plastic bag and use a mug bottom to crush pretzels into small pieces. Place pretzels and other toppings into individual bowls. Set aside.
Wash apples. Apples from the produce section are usually coated in wax. Dip your apple into a pot of boiling water for about 10 seconds, then wipe the wax off.
Core and slice each into 8 wedges. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Poke one white dipping stick into each wedge. Pat the apple slices dry with paper towels.
Dip into caramel and then into desired toppings.
