Atole De Vanilla

Warm up to winter with this traditional Mexican atole, sweetened with molasses, vanilla bean and a hint of cinnamon.


4 (8 ounce) servings


  • 4 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup Florida Crystals® Certified Organic Raw Cane Sugar
  • 3 tablespoons instant corn masa flour
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1 vanilla bean, cut lengthwise
  • 1 Mexican cinnamon stick


In a saucepan, whisk milk, sugar and masa together, until sugar is dissolved. Stir in molasses. Heat over low heat until combined. Add vanilla bean and cinnamon stick.

Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes, stirring frequently.

Remove from heat. Pour mixture through a fine mesh strainer.

Served garnished with a cinnamon stick.
