Making these Cinnamon Sugar Apple Fritter Rings is the epitome of simple and sweet. Just mix, dip and fry!

18 to 24 apple rings

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons Florida Crystals® Organic Powdered Raw Cane Sugar
  • pinch salt
  • 1 cup sparkling apple juice
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 6 to 8 apples
  • 1/2 cup Florida Crystals® Organic Raw Cane Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 egg whites
  • canola oil, for frying

Gently stir together the first 5 ingredients. Cover. Let rest at room temperature for 1 hour.

Peel and slice apples into 1/2-inch slices. With a small circle cutter, cut out the center of the apple with the seeds and the core and discard. Dry apple slices with paper toweling and set aside.

Preheat deep fryer to 350°F.

In a large bowl, mix together sugar and cinnamon.

Whip egg whites to a stiff peak. Gently fold the whites into batter. Dip apple slices one at a time into the batter and deep fry at 350°F. Carefully turn each apple slice over after 2 minutes or until golden in color.

Lift slices out of oil and let any excess oil drip back into the fryer. Place in bowl of cinnamon sugar. Cover apple slices with mixture. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet.
