Rich Hot Chocolate

Nothing fights the chill of winter like a piping hot cup of cocoa. Ditch the store-bought packets and you'll be amazed at how delicious this classic really can be.

  • 1/2 cup Florida Crystals® Organic Raw Cane Sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder, unsweetened
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)


In medium saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa and cream. Stir constantly over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, 2 minutes. Add milk and heat—do not boil. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla, if desired.



To make your own Instant Cocoa Mix, combine the following in a plastic container:

  • 1 cup nonfat dry milk solids
  • 1/2 cup Florida Crystals® Organic Raw Cane Sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Cover and shake until well mixed.

To make each serving, combine 3 tablespoons cocoa mix and 8 ounces boiling water. Stir until the powder dissolves. Makes 1 3/4 cups instant cocoa mix.
