Vegan Royal Icing


Royal icing to decorate cookies made with Organic Powdered Raw Cane Sugar

About 3 cups
  • 4 cups Florida Crystals® Organic Powdered Raw Cane Sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Vegan meringue powder
  • 1/3 cup Warm water
  • Vegan food coloring

Step 1

Combine all ingredients, except the food coloring, in the mixing bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whip attachment. Beat on low speed until combined. Increase speed to medium-high and beat for 5 – 8 minutes, adding 2-3 tablespoons more of warm water, as needed. Icing should be stiff enough to hold a peak when tested. 

Step 2

Divide the icing among several small bowls and add food coloring of your choice. Adjust the amount depending on the intensity of the color you desire. Mix well for an even color. Use this thick icing to outline cookies. Adjust consistency of icing by adding water.

Additional Tip:

Use royal icing immediately. If you have left over icing, store at room temperature on an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
